In order to meet the public interest and expectation for emergency medical care and respond to its increasing demand, Department of Emergency Medicine has been created in 1997, and is continuously striving to contribute to the prompt emergency measures, accurate diagnosis, and appropriate treatments.
Professors, interns, residents and nurses of the Emergency Medicine are on call 24 hours 365 days for the patients’ emergency care, and the department is working in close cooperation with various departments to ensure prompt examination. In addition, the department is actively engaged in offering its students, fellows, and residents with a variety of educational and research programs. Students are educated on the basic and clinical knowledge related to emergency medicine through lectures and clinical practice; various conferences, seminars, staff lectures are held regularly, with some events held in cooperation with other departments. The department is also engaged in actively participating in various off-campus conferences and workshops, leading to fostering the best emergency medicine specialists. Based on the above-mentioned facts, the department provides its patients with the highest level of care in the ER despite its short period of operation, and is in the process of accomplishing outstanding research achievements and carrying out major national projects.
