Hanyang University College of Medicinecal College began with the spirit of “us”, putting others before oneself. The College has consistently developed itself inwith commitment to foster medical experts who can contribute to Korean medical developments in Korea as well asand community health care. The College is now poised to takefor major leaps in order to foster international medical experts.
EstablishedStarted as the first private- invested engineering institute under Japanese imperialism in 1939, Hanyang University laid foundations of modernization and industrialization after Korea restored its independence. Based on this history and tradition, Hanyang University attempted to establish the College of Medicine from 1965.
The foundingfoundation principle of Hanyang University is “Love in Deed and Truth(Diligence, Honesty, Humility and Service Modesty, Public Service). It means one who performs the act of love should act diligently, show honest and humble attitudes, and should devote oneself to serving the society. The CollegeTheHanyang Medical College of Medicine was established to realize this foundingfoundation principle and to foster responsible medical professionals who could improve national health. With the approval of the Ministry of Education, Department of Pre-Medicine was established in the College of Arts and Sciences and recruiteding 80 students in 1686, which laid out the foundation to foster “practitioners of love” that devotes themselves devoting to society much more widely and profoundly.
EvenUntil today, theHanyang Medical College of Medicine at Hanyang University is dedicated to advancing active self-development and practical usage of professional medical knowledge in pursuit of medical professionals committed to the “practicepractition of love”.
