Professor Park Hwon-Kyum teaches and practices as a Surgeon at the College of Medicine of Hanyang University. He graduated and received Ph.D. from Hanyang University. After he finished as surgical residency at Hanyang University Hospital and served as Korean Army Surgeon, he worked as 1st Surgical Fellowship at Hanyang University Hospital in 1993.
From 1995 he has worked at Hanyang University Guri Hospital as a Surgeon in charge of HepatoBiliary-Pancreatic division and Minimally Invasive Surgery. He also has a great passion of reserch - "From bench To bed !" -in the field of transplantation immunology especially at immune tolerance and cell therapy using Umbilical cord blood -derived stem cell.
He also has a lot of interest in the education of medical school.
He has participated as a active member in the Korean Surgical Society, the Korean Association of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery, the Korean Pancreas Surgery Club, the Korean Society of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons, the Korean Society for Transplantation etc.
He had an award for the excellent contribution of Plenary Session for the presentation titled " Efficacy of Human Umbilical cord-derived Multipotent Stem cells in the Liver Cirrhosis of Rats and Humans" in the 8th World Congress of IHPBA(International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association) at Mumbai, India in 2008. From 2009 he was nominated as Active Member in Marquis Who's who in the world of USA and as 2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st century from IBC(International Biographical Centre), Cambridge, England.
